As a seasoned facilitator of talent, Neal helps clients address challenges that limit their ability to perform, engage appropriately, and manage priorities. He works with them to develop new skills, accelerate performance, align execution with strategy, communicate with power and presence, and motivate teams. Neal works with senior executives, helping them to discover practical new approaches that range from the subtle nuance of interpersonal interaction and accountability to the more visible broad strokes of executive leadership.
He brings unique ability to establish trust and strong engagement for encouraging clients to lead powerfully.
Starting in sales, Neal moved up through the ranks in a variety of roles with such brands as Honeywell and Esselte Pendaflex. He knows what it means (and feels like) to be on the firing line. As a senior executive leading sales, marketing and operations, he led comprehensive change management initiatives that drove innovation, reset roles, expectations and inter-dependencies.
Neal works with client-preferred assessment instruments and a solid range of valid and highly regarded tools, including Hogan, DISC, and Lencioni’s Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team®. Neal uses a variety of interview techniques, role-plays, and case study analytical exercises, to assess capability and potential areas of growth.
Neal has significant experience working in multi-cultural organizations with a diverse range of middle managers and executives originating from other cultures. In these environments, diversity and inclusion programs and strategies are common needs that Neal works to implement in a coaching and consulting capacity. He is able to quickly gain the respect and confidence of his clients by arming them with new influencing skills which are relevant and applicable to success in their particular culture. Most importantly, Neal helps leaders recognize the perceptual blinders that can limit the ability to execute, reinforce trust, and strengthen agility. All are crucial for success at senior levels.
Over 50% of his executive coaching practice is composed of female talent, working in predominately male cultures, who prefer working with a seasoned mentor like Neal. He works with the C-suite as well as SVP, MD, and VPs based on the need for change.
Neal works with a range of functions and leaders, including: investment and finance teams, sales, operations, marketing, research, supply chain, strategy and human resources. Developing leadership and followership skills, particularly the ability to inspire, respect and motivate others, goes to the heart of Neal’s work.
